Ugenya is an electoral constituency in Kenya represented by a democratically elected member of Parliament (MP) who sits at the National Assembly in Nairobi, the country’s Capital.

It is one of the six constituencies in Siaya County, the others being Alego, Bondo, Gem, Rarieda and Ugunja. Siaya on the other hand, is one of 47 devolved counties in the Republic of Kenya.

Ugenya is further divided into four wards namely West Ugenya, Ukwala, North Ugenya and East Ugenya. Each of these wards is represented by a local democratically elected member of County Assembly (MCA) who sits at the County headquarters in Siaya City.

West Ugenya, with a population of 30,000 has 24 primary schools and 8 high schools. However, only 10% of the region’s adults have graduated from high school or have secondary school education.

Ugenya Sports and Science Academy (USSA) currently operates in West Ugenya. It is the yellow region, as represented in the zoomed map shown below.
